        若沒有前兩項，就沒有第三項的結果，因為上帝的旨意要藉著順服才能完成（弗6：6），正如大衛所明白的，沒有一件事比順服上帝更喜樂了！

        兩度加冕的三位君王—掃羅，大衛及所羅門
        所羅門的兩次加冕（23：1；29：22）是依照掃羅模式（撒上10：1；11：15）及大衛模式（撒下2：4；5：3）而來，第二次的加冕，都是公開堅定王的心志！

上帝必使用祂所差遣的人，絕不會要他虛度光陰。

        Compare the opening chapters of David's life with the closing ones, and you will come to a startling conclusion: David ends his life the same way he began it—with humble confidence in God. In spite of his numerous accomplishments, David never lets greatness go to his head. Rather, his final words to Solomon and the nation reflect the same wholehearted devotion to God that characterized the young shepherd in the pasture-lands of Judea. With the dream of a temple entrusted to his son, and the tokens of God's blessings all around him, David dies "in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son [reigns] in his stead" (29:28).

        There's an amazing epitaph inscribed over the Me of King David. But to discover it, you'll need to look in an unlikely place—Acts 13:36. There you'll read these words: "David served his own generation by the will of God,"
        In the 40 years David ruled the nation of Israel, several things were true of his administration:
        1. He lived to serve. Instead of the pride, revenge, and self-seeking that characterized so many of Israel's kings, David's reign was marked by mercy, justice, and humility. Further.
        2. He lived to do God's will. Pleasing God was David's daily-passion; obeying God was David's greatest delight. And the result?
        3. He followed God's purpose for his life. There was a job to be done in David's day and, by God's strength, David did it.
        You can't have (3) without (1) and (2), for God's will for His children involves the path of service (Ephesians 6:6). But as David learned, there's no more delightful calling in life!

        Three Kings Two Times Crowned —
        The double coronation of Solomon (23:1; 29:22) followed a pattern that began with Saul (1 Samuel 10:1; 11:15) and continued with David (2 Samuel 2:4; 5:3). In each case, the second coronation was a public confirmation of the first.

Whom God sends He employs, for He sends no one to be idle.
