講道、醫療、訓練門徒是人子每天生活的概況，正因路加是一位醫生，所以對醫療的情形總是詳實的紀錄，這些記載在文獻上的神蹟成為耶穌回答疑惑的施洗約翰（路7：18-35）和「這又不信又悖謬的世代」（路9：41）的明證，當耶穌在講道和醫病時，祂耐心的訓練門徒，好讓他們在祂離去之後繼續服事。這個代價很高，也很危險，但搶救永恆生命的目標卻是值得的！

        你曾經為那一件事禱告得最久？也許是身體得醫治，也許是為一位心愛的人得到救恩，或者是賣一幢房子，為了這個需要妳禱告了多久？一個月，半年、一年、兩年、五年、十年？還在為此禱告不平？
        在今天的經文中，你會遇到一位背負同一重擔長達十二年的婦人（路8：43-48），她去看醫生，花盡了所有的錢財，卻始終找不到治療毛病的方法，也許是抱著最後一線希望，她帶著重擔來到救主面前，在那裡，經歷十二年尋尋覓覓的問題霍然而解，如果不尋找，可能永遠找不到解決之道。
        禱告就是把你不能解決的問題，憑信心交給能夠「照祂榮耀的豐富，在基督耶穌裡，使你們一切所需的都充足」（腓4：19）的上帝，相信祂，把結果交給祂！
        把下面這句話，當作你今天的前進口令：「我等候，我相信，因為上帝不失信！」

        食量雖大，還有剩下！
        包括婦女和孩子，耶穌餵飽的群眾約有一萬五千人，如果一個人只吃五盎司的東西，那麼食量總合至少要兩噸以上，用餐後，門徒還收拾了十二籃的剩菜，每一籃約含八加崙重，可見祂能滿足你大量的需求呢！

禱告是把你不能解決的問題，交給能解決一切問題的上帝。

        Preaching ... healing .. . discipling. In capsule form that summarizes the daily activities of the Son of Man. Luke records the healings with careful attention to detail, as befitting a physician. And those documented miracles become the proof of Jesus' claims to a doubting John the Baptist (7:19-35), and a "faithless and perverse generation" (9:41). As He preaches and heals, Jesus patiently prepares His disciples to carry on in His absence. The stakes are high; the cost is steep. But the goal of saving lives eternally makes it all worthwhile!

        What was the longest period of time you ever prayed for the same request? Perhaps you were asking for physical healing, or the salvation of a loved one, or the sale of a house. Did you pray for that need every day for a month, six months, a year, two years, ten years? Are you still praying for it?
        In today's reading you will encounter a woman who carried the same burden for twelve long years (8:43-48). She had consulted physicians and spent her life's savings in a vain search for a cure to her problem. Perhaps as a last resort, she brought that burden to the Savior. And there, after twelve years of searching, her need was met. But without the search, she might never have found the solution.
        Prayer is simply taking a need you cannot supply and committing it by faith to the God who is able to "supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19), then in confident trust leaving the results with Him.
        Make these words your marching orders for the day: "I will trust while 1 wait, for my God is never late."

        Tons to Eat... and Bushels to Spare
        The crowd fed by Jesus probably numbered around 15,000 including women and children. If each person consumed only five ounces of food, the total eaten would still have been more than two tons. And afterwards, the disciples picked up 12 bushel baskets of leftovers. He is just as able to meet your greatest needs!

Prayer is committing a need you cannot supply to the God who can supply all your need.
