難得聽說有人承認自己無知，但亞古珥的確是這樣！經由他對自然界提出的問題，牽引讀者了解上帝的超越，以及相形之下人類有限的智慧。利慕伊勒則為箴言書提供了頂蓋，他盛讚一位信靠上帝的妻子與母親，這是非常切合箴言的。箴言始於上帝（1：7），終於家庭（31：15）；因為上帝的智慧若真有效，就應該不斷的運用在日常生活的嚴酷考驗中。

        這位賢德的婦人是怎樣的呢？在家，她是一個可靠的伴侶（31：11），照顧家中大大小小的事務（13：12,15, 18, 27），是一個精明的買主（31：13,14），也是一個能幹的裁縫（31：19,22）；在外，她是一個機警的商人（31：11,16,18,24），她的舉止帶著能力與威儀（31：25），一說話就充滿仁慈與威儀（31：26），一切言行都表明她敬畏上帝（31：30），這位婦人實在是一位無價之寶（31：10）。
        姐妹們，立刻列一個清單，上面寫著上帝要你發揚的品德，那一些需要改進？那些能力你可以塑造？弟兄們，可別忽略了三十節的訓誡：「她必得稱讚」！上次你稱讚那位「遠勝過珍珠」的尊夫人至今有多久了，今晚，何不到餐館共享一段獨處的快樂時光？好使箴言三十一章二十八節在你生活中成為真實！

舊約的箴言即新約的比喩
        請注意亞古珥提出的問題（30：4），耶穌基督在約翰福音三章十三節作了回答，過去幾天裡你所讀到的箴言，在耶穌的比喩裡都有詳盡的說明，而且你知道嗎？希伯來文舊約中「箴言」一字的最佳詮釋，就是希臘文新約的「比喩」。

        It's rare to hear anyone admit to ignorance, but Agur does exactly that! Yet with his questions about nature, he leads the reader to understand something of God's brilliance in contrast to the limits of human understanding. The capstone of the Book of Proverbs is provided by Lemuel, who praises the virtues of a godly wife and mother. It is fitting that Proverbs, which begins in heaven (1:7), should end in the home (31:15); for if God's wisdom works, it had better work in the crucible of everyday life.

        Proverbs 31 devotes 22 verses to the virtuous woman, and not a single verse to the virtuous man! Anyone who thinks the Bible is not a "liberated" book has failed to read the Proverbs.
        And what a woman of virtue this is! In the home she is a trusted companion (v. 11) who cares tirelessly for her household (vv. 12,15, 18, 27). She is a skilled shopper (vv. 13-14) and seamstress (vv. 19, 22). Outside the home she is an astute businesswoman (w. 11, 16,18, 24). With strength and dignity adorning her conduct (v. 25), kindness and wisdom accompanying her speech (v. 26), and the fear of the Lord motivating her behavior (v. 30), she is a priceless treasure (v. 10).
        Women, take inventory right now of the virtues God wants your life to radiate. What needs to change? What strengths can you build upon? And men, don't miss the exhortation to you in verse 30: "She shall be praised!" Has it been too long since you gave your "Mrs. Far-Above-Rubies" the praise she deserves? Tonight, why not eat out... and make Proverbs 31:28 a reality in your life!

Proverbs in the Old, Parables in the New
        Note the questions raised by Agur (30:4), and the answer supplied by Jesus Christ in John 3:13. Not only do many of Jesus' parables elaborate upon the proverbs you have read the past few days, but the best translation of the Old Testament Hebrew word for proverb is the New Testament Greek word for parable!
