Chinese10/26/2013 上帝兒子的聲明English

4x5000=一個大神蹟
        四本福音書中耶穌一共行了三十五個神蹟,其中只有一個──餵飽五千人──在四本福音裡都有紀錄(太14:13-21;可6:32-44;路9:10-17;約6:1-14)

10/26/2013 Claims by the Son of God
Scriptures:John 5-7
Heart of the Passage:John 6
Overview

The evidence continues to build for the deity of Jesus who is called the Christ. The man by the pool of Siloam discovers that He is truly the Water of Life. A crowd of more than 5,000 learns firsthand that He is the Bread of Life. The religious leaders wonder if He is from God (and therefore if His words are true—including His unflattering comments about them) or from Satan. They conclude the latter to be true, resulting in murderous plots and divided public opinion.

Chapter 5

Chapter 6

Chapter 7

Claims by the Son of God . . .

At a Feast

At the Passover

At the Feast of Tabernacles

"I Am Life"

"I Am Bread"

"I Am the Thirst Quencher"

Your Daily Walk

Are you ever disappointed with God?
You pray for something you know is God-honoring, and there seems to be no response. A tragedy strikes which God could have (and in your opinion should have) prevented. You start a much-needed new program in your church and it falls flat. Someone else at work gets the promotion which should have been yours. Your neighbor's obnoxious son hits a home run and your son strikes out. Someone backs into your car and leaves a note—with no name or phone number. Where is God in all of this?
Today's reading includes a tragic description (6:60-71). As long as Jesus was fulfilling the disciples' expectations about Him (performing miracles, feeding multitudes, casting out demons), they gladly followed Him. But once He started talking about the spiritual requirements of discipleship (6:62-65), that was altogether different!
God wants you to serve Him on His terms, not yours. He wants you to leave the "whys," and the "whens," and the "wherefores" to Him, and concentrate instead on the role of being rest-fully dependent and instantly obedient. Are you willing to do that today? Then carry this thought with you:
         "I try . . . I fail; I trust. . . He succeeds . . . through me!"

Insight

4 x 5,000 = A Great Miracle
A total of 35 miracles are attributed to Jesus in the Gospels. Of these, only one—the feeding of the 5,000—is recorded in all four (Matthew 14:13-21; Mark 6:32-44; Luke 9:10-17; John 6:1-14).

Adage

God does all that He does because He is all that He is.
